Andy Mauck

Andy started practicing law in 1991. He spent 16 years in a large international firm. He then spent two years at a smaller firm where he learned he could practice without the trappings and expenses of a big firm. This led him to start his own law firm.

He has a significant background in commercial and business litigation and has handled hundreds of cases in federal and state courts in Virginia and elsewhere. More than just a hired gun, Andy understands that the goal is to resolve the dispute efficiently, quickly, and in a manner that keeps the client focused on his or her goals.

Andy always enjoyed working on matters involving family trusts and estates. In the past 20 years, this area has become one of his specialities. He is passionate about it. He has earned a reputation as a fiduciary litigator whether representing trustees, executors, or beneficiaries. He has both challenged and protected wills and trusts, sought and opposed the appointment of guardians and conservators, and assisted many families reconcile their differences and move on with their lives.

Andy is a firm believer in alternative dispute resolution. Litigation can be time consuming, expensive and risky. While always preparing for court, he seeks opportunities to have the parties resolve their differences with the help of a trained neutral. He has participated in dozens of high stakes mediations and judicial settlement conferences.
