Andrea Sullivan Gould

 

Andrea is an experienced litigator with a concentration in business and fiduciary litigation. She joined the Firm in 2013 after 12 years with a large law firm. Andrea focuses on litigating fiduciary issues, including interpretation of wills and trusts, breach of fiduciary duty by trustees and executors, testamentary capacity and undue influence. She counsels clients regarding powers of attorney, guardianships, and conservatorships. Andrea also has significant experience representing companies and individuals in matters involving breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation and property claims. 

 

Andrea regularly handles cases in Virginia and federal courts as well as mediations and arbitrations. In 2014, Andrea successfully argued a case before the Virginia Supreme Court involving intestacy succession in Virginia, Sheppard v. Junes, 287 Va. 397 (2014).

 

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Andrea spent a year volunteering at Legal Services for the Elderly in New York, where she advocated for senior citizens in matters regarding housing, health insurance and benefits. She graduated from UVA Law School in 1997. She has represented veterans and animal protection agencies in numerous pro bono matters.
